Joe Biden and Kamala Harris take the presidential campaign to Animal Crossing

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is an escape, an oasis from the real world. But not for much longer. Starting Tuesday, reports The Verge, Animal Crossing players will be able to download Joe Biden Kamala Harris campaign yard signs to decorate their islands with.

Democratic presidential candidates Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are rethinking the traditional campaign. Biden’s team started the year off with livestreamed events and now it’s taking to a medium mostly unexplored politics: Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

“Animal Crossing is a dynamic, diverse, and powerful platform that brings communities together from across the world. It is an exciting new opportunity for our campaign to engage and connect Biden-Harris supporters as they build and decorate their islands,” Christian Tom, director of digital partnerships for the Biden campaign, said in a statement to The Verge.

Does this mean we’ll see more game and campaign integrations? Where is the Biden Minecraft server? Biden and Harris take on Fall Guys?

There are four signs in total to download. Players will be able to get the designs by scanning the QR codes through the Nintendo Switch Online app. Word is out on whether the Trump campaign will be using similar tactics.
