Adam Sandler returns to Netflix with the trailer for Hubie Halloween

Plus, a feral Steve Buscemi

The Sandman is at it again.

After threatening to make a terrible movie on purpose if he didn’t win an Oscar for his performance in Uncut Gems, Adam Sandler made Hubie Halloween. Does it look terrible? Judge for yourself with the new trailer, which has, among other things, a frighteningly feral Steve Buscemi.

Sandler stars as Hubie Dubois, a Salem, Massachusetts, resident (with Sandler’s trademark mumble) who is obsessed with Halloween. Every Halloween, he does his best to make sure the townspeople are celebrating safely, but his vigilance has made him the local boy who cried wolf. Nobody takes him seriously anymore. However, this Halloween, an escaped criminal threatens the festivities, and Hubie’s pleas for the community to be careful go ignored.

Kevin James and Kenan Thompson co-star as the local police, who have had enough of Hubie’s antics, with Julie Bowen, Ray Liotta, Rob Schneider, June Squibb, Shaquille O’Neal, Michael Chiklis, Tim Meadows, Noah Schnapp, and Maya Rudolph also starring as some of the town’s residents.

Hubie Halloween is set to hit Netflix on Oct. 7.
