Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts returns to Netflix for a third season on Oct. 12.
The post-apocalyptic animated series takes place in a future world where giant, mutated animals (known as “mutes”) have taken over the Earth’s surface, and most of humanity was forced into underground communities known as burrows. Tensions between humans and mutes are high, but Kipo (Karen Fukuhara), a burrow-dweller, finds herself on the surface and can’t help but be charmed by the world of mutes — is there a way for humans and animals to coexist?
The first two seasons focused a lot on villainous mandrill Scarlemange (Dan Stevens), a tyrannical monkey bent on enslaving humanity, but the second season also introduced a new threat in Dr. Emilia (Amy Landecker), a scientist who wants to reverse the mutant gene and revert all mutes back to regular animals.
The first two seasons of Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts are available on Netflix. Check out the first full poster for season 3 below.
