It’s been a year of twists and turns for video gaming personality Tyler “Ninja” Blevins. He started 2020 exclusively livestreaming on the now-dead Mixer platform, jumped ship to YouTube, and then tested the waters on his old stomping grounds once again — shopping around, if you will. But now, after months away from the grind, the blue-haired performer announced he’s signed a deal with Twitch once more.
A Twitch news release says that Blevins will kick off his new partnership on Sept. 10 with a livestream on his old channel.
“I am excited to get back to streaming full-time and connecting with my loyal fanbase,” said Blevins. “I really took my time to decide which platform was best and Twitch has been very supportive throughout this process and understanding my overall career goals. In this next chapter, I’m going to make it a point to elevate and bring more eyes to underrepresented creators. I am looking forward to working with Twitch to demonstrate how this amazing community of gamers can make a meaningful impact.”
Previously, Blevins had come under fire for stating that he didn’t like to livestream with women, so his promise to try and elevate marginalized creators is a notable one.
Prior to his departure from Twitch, Blevins was one of the biggest personalities on the platform who was known for his exciting Fortnite livestreams. At one point, Blevins even managed to get rap superstar Drake on the livestream, a cameo that broke viewership records at the time. Now that Blevins is back on Twitch, it’s likely that the livestreaming platform won’t be the only thing taking up his time. After all, the excitable personality has said he has his eyes set on Hollywood.
