The update should arrive this month

Ooblets is a chill game about living the sweet life on a farm, surrounded by adorable creatures and using the best dance moves to find more friends. It looks like the game is about to take a decidedly spooky turn for its first big update, which is scheduled to come out in September.

The Nullwhere update will introduce a new explorable region to the game, with a small storyline — along the lines of Mamoonia.

This preview doesn’t make Nullwhere look too threatening, so this should be an update that’s pretty in line with the core Ooblets experience. An additional tweet from developer Glumberland showed off some characters:

Polygon’s review of the game noted that the game was adorable and charming, but there were issues with a lack of content and bugs. The Nullwhere update looks like a good step in the right direction, as it’s a permanent addition, and there’ll be new ooblets to acquire via dancing mastery.

There’s no exact release date for the Nullwhere update yet, but according to the game’s Twitter account, it’s on track to be completed “before the end of the month,” and Epic Games Store users should see their client update “sometime this month.”
