Sony will reveal new PlayStation 5 details during a livestream on Wednesday, Sept. 16. The PlayStation 5 Showcase presentation promises “updates on the latest titles from Worldwide Studios and our world-class development partners.”
The PlayStation 5 Showcase stream will air on the PlayStation Twitch and YouTube channels at 4 p.m. EDT/1 p.m. PDT on Wednesday, and will run for approximately 40 minutes.
Sony announced the PS5 Showcase event on Saturday, saying it plans to show “games coming to PS5 at launch (and beyond!)” during the presentation.
PlayStation fans are hopeful that the event will discuss more than just upcoming PS5 games; Sony Interactive Entertainment has not yet revealed the PS5’s launch date or the price for its next-generation hardware, with mere months to go before the console is expected to be released. Sony’s next-gen rival, Microsoft, revealed the release date and price of its next-gen Xbox systems, the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, last week.
The PlayStation 5 is scheduled to launch sometime this holiday season.
