Harry Potter fans will study witchcraft and wizardry at Hogwarts School in Hogwarts Legacy, an open-world adventure game coming soon for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.

Announced during Wednesday’s PlayStation showcase, fans were introduced to Hogwarts in the 1800s, where they will play a student “who holds the key to an ancient secret that threatens to tear the wizarding world apart.”

The game’s official site promises that players will “discover the feeling of living at Hogwarts as you make allies, battle Dark wizards, and ultimately decide the fate of the wizarding world.” They will be faced with good-versus-evil choices along the way as they resolve Hogwarts Legacy’s central conflict.

Avalanche Software is developing Hogwarts Legacy for Warner Bros.’ Portkey Games, the label for Harry Potter video game adaptations. The game is scheduled to be released in 2021. You can check out the first five screenshots in the gallery below.
