To say that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fans are surprised — and excited! — would be an understatement. Within minutes, the Nintendo tweet had amassed thousands of re-tweets, with fans speculating in the comments about who the new fighter could be.
In January, Nintendo announced that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate would get six new fighters as part of the Fighters Pass Vol. 2. Each pack will have its own new fighter, stage, and music. All six of the fighters are slated for released before Dec. 31, 2021. During the Fighters Pass Vol. 2 announcement, Sakurai said all six fighters had already been decided upon.
Nintendo’s last Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fighter was Min Min from the company’s 2017 fighting game Arms. She’s the first new character who is a part of the Fighters Pass Vol. 2, which costs $29.99.
