Charmander will be the star of 2020’s October Pokémon Go Community Day.

The event will take place on Oct. 17 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. in your local time. It’ll feature tripled Stardust from catching Pokémon, as well as an increased spawn rate for Charmander. The event will also increase the odds of finding a Shiny Charmander, so if you don’t have one, this will be your chance.

During the event, there will be Timed Research as well as regular Field Research Tasks that give Charizard Mega Energy as a reward, so players will definitely want to stock up on Mega Energy.

When evolved during the event period, Charizard will learn Dragon Breath, not Blast Burn.

Mega Charizard Y (the flying- and fire-type Mega Evolution) is a pretty good fire-type attacker, so it’s worth grabbing the Mega Energy if you plan on doing a lot of raids.

Charmander has been featured in a Community Day before, but won second place in the last community vote, earning it a new event.
