Xbox Series X ‘Pulse Red’ controller goes on sale in February

Fourth color for the new console’s gamepad

The next color for the Xbox Series X’s controller is called Pulse Red, and it will go on sale on Feb. 9, Microsoft announced on Monday.

The peripheral is actually red and white (and black), with the faceplate (and analog sticks) carrying the Pulse Red look and the back in “crisp white,” the company’s statement says. The triggers, bumpers, and D-pad are matte black. The triggers and bumpers also have a textured dot pattern to improve grip.

The controller is $64.99; like the Series X’s other controllers (in black, white, and “Shock Blue”) the buttons are fully remappable, and the controller is Bluetooth-compatible with Windows 10 PCs and Android devices for remote play or cloud gaming via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

Buyers will get a 14-day free trial for that service, too. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate’s cloud-streaming play will launch on Apple iOS mobile devices this spring, the company announced in December.
