Cyberpunk 2077 mod gives V a party of companions

Roll around Night City with four friends

Cyberpunk 2077 is a fun RPG, but it can get a little lonely. With a few exceptions for certain quests, and the occasional appearance of Johnny Silverhand, V is mostly on their own on their quests through Night City. But a new fan-made mod aims to fix that by giving V a cast of companions everywhere they go. This mod was created by user SiJiaoCunDeDaZhuangJi on Nexus Mods, and it’s called Judy-River-Saul-Takemura Companion Game Save.

With this mod, playing Cyberpunk 2077 feels more like a BioWare game, because you’re rolling around with a full party. That being said, it’s not the most polished experience. The mod creator warns users about a few hiccups they may encounter in the mod’s description.

Saul will follow you even if you teleport. (i.e. you cannot get rid of him by teleport.)

Judy, River, and Takemura won’t. They will stay at the very place where you use teleport station. But they won’t dissappear so you can go back there and pick them up later (maybe with your car, for convenience). I personally would prefer leave them at V’s apartment when i don’t need their companions.

There are certain jobs the payers can complete to send their new party member home. For instance, completing Ex-Factor will reset Judy and she will no longer follow V around. This also comes with a level-50 male V, so it’s not the same as playing the game from scratch and collecting companions.

However, it’s interesting to see how Cyberpunk 2077 modders are stretching the game and adding fun novelties. The first wave of useful mods mostly focused on fixing little things in the game, such as the finicky minimap or the game’s driving controls. As modders spend more time on their projects and learn the limits of Cyberpunk 2077, we’ll likely see more fun mods like this. For now, it’s neat to be able to roll around Night City with my best friends.
