Fuse’s passive let’s him carry one extra grenade in each inventory slot and shoot them farther and faster. His Tactical ability launches a series of cluster mines that splinter into multiple smaller bombs, hitting all the enemies in a large area. Fuse’s Ultimate ability is called the Motherlode and unleashes a bombardment that encircles its target in a wall of flames.
Since all of Fuse’s abilities go bang, he should be the perfect character for players that want to lock their enemies in a small area, or just unleash explosives onto them. Fuse should also be a great character for new Apex Legends players this season because it’s all about putting explosions and grenades right where the enemy’s standing.
Overall, Fuse’s kit seems like it should fit right in with the rest of the Apex Legends roster. In fact, it’s got more than a few similarities to characters like Bangalore, who also has a grenade launcher and missile strike. Fuse seems to be more focused on area denial and control, while Bangalore’s abilities focus more on impairing the enemy’s vision and slowing them down.
Meanwhile, Fuse’s unique alterations to grenades — which give him increased range and velocity — may mean that some squads will feed all their explosives to their Fuse, turning him into a one-man mortar crew while they rush forward.
Fuse will arrive in Apex Legends with the launch of season 8 which is scheduled for Feb 2.
