Zendaya’s reign over pop culture continues to grow, expanding onto streaming services.
The Euphoria actress (also of Smallfoot and “Zendaya is Meechee” fame) stars in an upcoming Netflix original movie along with Tenet’s John David Washington. Titled Malcolm and Marie, the movie comes from Euphoria creator Sam Levinson and was filmed during the COVID-19 pandemic, shot entirely in a private home in California last July.
Malcolm and Marie follows a filmmaker named Malcom (Washington) and his girlfriend Marie (Zendaya) as the couple returns home from the film premiere of Malcolm’s newest movie and awaits its reception. Taking place over the course of an evening, the black-and-white movie dives into their relationship, as truths come to light and their love is tested.
“This is not a love story,” reads the trailer. “This is a story of love.”
Malcom and Marie hits Netflix on February 5 — just in time for Valentine’s Day.
