J Balvin has a new music video with Pikachu, but Hitmontop is the star

Pokémon 25: The Album is officially out

Reggaeton star J Balvin finds himself in a Pokémon-filled world in his newest music video. Part of Pokémon 25: The Album, a collaboration between various musicians across the globe to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the beloved franchise, the J Balvin video comes right at the album’s release.

In the infectiously catchy music video, J Balvin discovers a Pokéball, which transforms the world around him. Soon, he meets a Pikachu outside and the two share a cute little high five — right before Pikachu uses its electric powers to help a few people. That’s not the only Pokémon out there on the streets of New York City, where J. Balvin eventually runs into Totodile and Charizard among others. But the one that takes the prize is a Hitmontop breakdancing — look at it go!

Pokémon 25: The Album contains songs from artists like Katy Perry and Post Malone — all with a Pokémon twists. The songs have been released throughout the year, but the full album is finally out today.
