Nintendo’s Mii-powered RPG Miitopia is coming to Switch

The customizable RPG returns

Miitopia, the customizable role-playing game starring lovable Miis for Nintendo 3DS, is coming to Nintendo Switch on May 21.

Shown during Wednesday’s big Nintendo Direct stream, the RPG is getting a port where, just like the original, you’ll be able to design your own Miis and set them off on a fun adventure. You’ll have to hone in on the character’s relationships to give them unique perks to help them on your adventure.

Nintendo released Miitopia for Nintendo 3DS in July 2017. The original game set a protagonist off on a very typical RPG adventure, letting them pick a class, form a party, and cross a fantasy land to fight the Dark Lord. The new game has all that, but you can also add makeup and wigs to your Miis for even more customization.

In our review of the 3DS version, we said that Nintendo’s Mii-centric role-playing game “won’t revolutionize the genre in any sense, but as a breezy riff on a familiar formula, Miitopia is a pure delight.”
