It’s two characters in one

The next characters coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate are Pyra and Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Nintendo announced the new Super Smash Bros. challengers during Wednesday’s Nintendo Direct.

Pyra and Mythra, Rex’s allies from Xenoblade Chronicles, join recently added characters Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7, Min Min from Arms, and Steve/Alex from Minecraft. Pyra and Mythra will be released in March.

This pair of characters is the fourth addition included as part of Fighters Pass Vol. 2. All six characters in that pass (not counting skins) — plus new stages and music — will be released for Ultimate by Dec. 31, 2021, Sakurai said during a Nintendo Direct Mini presentation in January. The first Fighters Pass added Joker from Persona 5, Hero from the Dragon Quest series, Banjo and Kazooie, Terry from Fatal Fury/The King of Fighters, and Byleth from Fire Emblem: Three Houses to Ultimate as paid content.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was released on Nintendo Switch in December 2018. It’s one of the best games on Nintendo’s handheld console.
