Blizzard leak reveals what’s next for World of Warcraft ahead of BlizzCon

Shadowlands is getting a new raid, dungeon, and flying, while Classic gets the Burning Crusade

World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth - Sylvanas Windrunner Blizzard Entertainment

Blizzard Entertainment is preparing to host its first virtual BlizzCon show this weekend, but it seems the developer may have prematurely revealed a few of its surprises. Blizzard’s press site briefly had all the information about the upcoming World of Warcraft: Shadowlands patch and the World of Warcraft Classic: The Burning Crusade expansion, according to a post on Wowhead, and several posts on Reddit.

According to the leak, Shadowlands patch 9.1 will include a new zone that the Jailer has pulled into the Maw. There will also be a huge new dungeon, and a 10-boss raid that takes place in Torghast. Players will also have the chance to united all four of the Shadowlands’ Covenant factions, and the ability to fly around the Shadowlands.

On the World of Warcraft Classic front, the leak says that Blizzard will reveal the Burning Crusade expansion. That means that players will, once again, be able to charge through the Dark Portal into the Outlands. Players will also have the chance to create new Blood Elf or Draenei characters, who weren’t introduced into WoW until Burning Crusade. If you’d rather not advance your WoW Classic journey, the leaked statements say that Blizzard will introduce new Classic Era servers that do not advance to the game’s first expansion.

As for the rest of the information about what’s coming to World of Warcraft and Blizzard’s other titles, we’ll probably hear more when BlizzConline officially begins on Friday, Feb. 19.
