A new episode of Sony’s State of Play will air on Thursday, Feb. 25, promising a look at upcoming PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 games, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced Tuesday. The show will include new game announcements and updates on titles shown at Sony’s PlayStation 5 Showcase in June 2020.
Games that were revealed during that stream include Sony’s Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (which is due in June), Horizon Forbidden West, Gran Turismo 7 (which was just delayed to 2022), and a new God of War. Upcoming third-party games from that stream include Deathloop, GhostWire: Tokyo, Resident Evil Village, and a PS5 version of Grand Theft Auto 5. And we’re also waiting on indies like Jett: The Far Shore, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Stray, and Solar Ash, all of which were shown in June.
Thursday’s State of Play livestream will run approximately 30 minutes, Sony said on the PlayStation blog. The show won’t focus on PlayStation hardware or “business-focused updates” — it will be all about games coming out in the months ahead, Sony explained. So don’t expect to see that new PlayStation VR headset for PS5.
Sony’s livestream will kick off Thursday at 5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT, on PlayStation’s Twitch and YouTube channels.
