Arkane Studios and Bethesda Softworks showed a new trailer for the PlayStation 5-exclusive Deathloop during Sony’s State of Play online event on Thursday.
The trailer is heavy on the gameplay action, set to a James Bond-style title song by Sencit, feat. FJØRA. Freestyle gun/knife combat backed by bizarre powers is only part of the picture Deathloop is offering; players may go through any of the game’s levels in any order they wish, but the overall idea is to figure out how to stop the game’s repeating time loop.
“Ramblin’” Frank Spicer is one of the “Visionaries” who’s out to stop the player. He also appears to be a DJ, sending us this long-distance dedication of Sencit’s “Deja Vu.”
Deathloop will be console-exclusive to PlayStation for the first year after it launches on May 21. (It’s also launching on Windows PC.) Although Microsoft bought Bethesda back in September, Phil Spencer said the company would still honor Bethesda’s timed exclusivity deals with Deathloop and Ghostwire: Tokyo on PlayStation 5.
