PlayStation Plus subscribers will get access to four games in March, including Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Square Enix’s action-role-playing game will be available to download on March 2 via PS Plus, alongside Maquette, Remnant: From the Ashes, and Farpoint.
Maquette is the recursive puzzle-adventure game from developer Graceful Decay and publisher Annapurna Interactive. In Maquette, the player manipulates a small-scale model of the game world they’re living in. Objects moved or brought inside the titular maquette are represented at massive scale in the real world, and players must move objects around to traverse through a recursive environment. Maquette will be a brand-new release available through PS Plus.
Remnant: From the Ashes is a Dark Souls-inspired shooter. The third-person survival action game is from Gunfire Games, and includes cooperative multiplayer. Farpoint is a first-person virtual reality shooter designed for PlayStation VR. It was developed by Impulse Gear and released in 2017.
February’s PlayStation Plus freebies, Control Ultimate Edition and Concrete Genie, are available to download through March 1. Another PS Plus game, Destruction AllStars, is also available to download through April 5.
On Thursday, Square Enix announced an upgraded version of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, known as Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, optimized for PlayStation 5. The upgrade will be free for PS4 owners of the game — but only for those who have purchased it. In other words, PlayStation Plus subscribers who download the PS4 game for free next month won’t be eligible to get Intergrade as a free PS5 upgrade. It’s unclear at this point whether Square Enix will offer a paid upgrade for those customers, or how much that would cost.
Update: We’ve clarified that the free PlayStation Plus download of Final Fantasy 7 Remake won’t be eligible to be upgraded to the game’s upcoming PlayStation 5 version for free.
