Animal Crossing: New Horizons is getting a big update to celebrate its first year, and within this March 18 patch is a bombshell for hardcore devotees: we’re finally getting more design slots. Folks have been begging for this since release! You can customize more things now, too.

You will get 50 more slots for both normal and pro custom designs, an upgrade which will cost 2,000 Nook Points at the kiosk in Resident Services. To go along with that, you can now customize umbrellas, small flags, uchiwa, and photo stands. I’m certain fans will make great use of it, but it also means that folks may soon find that 50 is not enough! A decent path or elaborate island theme always has a way of eating up those design slots, and now there are even more things to design. Still, more slots are better than fewer, right?

Another quality of life tweak here is that, rather than forcing you to go to the Able Sisters for custom designs, you can now simply use your NookPhone to access the feature. All these design changes will be a part of a larger update that includes additional seasonal items, farting, Sanrio characters, and more.

The next level of puzzles.

Take a break from your day by playing a puzzle or two! We’ve got SpellTower, Typeshift, crosswords, and more.
