Leveling up is pretty straightforward in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. However, there might be times when you want to level up to beat a difficult mission or bring a new character up to speed with everyone else.

In this Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity guide, we’ll show you the two different ways you can level up your characters.

How to level up characters

There are two ways you can level up your characters in Age of Calamity: replaying missions or spending money at the Military Training Camp. Since there are plenty of new characters to unlock and multiple side missions to complete, you may want keep your cast of characters at their highest levels. The higher the level, the stronger your characters will be.

Replaying missions

Since you can replay missions as often as you like, one of the most hands-on ways of boosting your characters’ levels is replaying main missions and side quests. There are no special requirements to redoing missions. Just pick the ones you want to replay, and before you dive in, swap out the characters you want to play as.

In most main missions, Link is required. You can’t swap him out out the first time you tackle those bigger quests. However, when you replay levels, you can choose any character you like. Keep this in mind if you want to experiment with your scores on each difficulty level. For instance, maybe you think you can achieve a faster clear time on the first level if you chose Urbosa and Mipha, instead of the default Link and Zelda.

The Military Training Camp

If you have plenty of spare rupees, the fastest way to level up in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is using the Military Training Camp. This area will open fairly early on and is located in Central Hyrule. It allows you to exchange rupees for a boost in character levels.

To use the facility, choose the character you want first. Then adjust the level up meter to raise a character’s level. The more experience you place into a character at the training camp, the higher the cost.

You can only raise a character’s level to the same level as your highest-level character. In most cases, this will be Link as he’s required in every main story mission. In any case, you can’t use the Military Training Camp as much as you’d like. Instead, think of it as a service to allow all your characters to stay the same level, provided you have enough rupees.
