Jujutsu Kaisen is getting a feature-length movie

The film will be called Jujutsu Kaisen 0

Jujutsu Kaisen is getting a feature-length anime movie. Studio MAPPA announced the film with a trailer, just after the show’s season finale on Friday.

The trailer itself is only 30 seconds long and is light on details, but it seems that the story will likely focus on the same plot as Jujutsu Kaisen 0, a prequel issue of the manga. In the prequel, the plot revolves around a few of the Jujutsu High students we know from the main series, as well as a new character, Yuta Okkotsu.

If that is the story the film is adapting, it would give fans some welcome backstory on characters like Panda, and Satoru Gojo, the series’ most powerful Jujutsu sorcerer, the most famous teacher at Jujutsu High, and the series’ breakout character from the anime’s first season.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 will be released sometime this winter, according to Studio MAPPA, but the trailer and announcement website don’t have an exact premiere date yet.
