In case you perhaps found The Mandalorian a little too cuddly, Star Wars: The Bad Batch is here to suplex a droid and show that it means business.
The forthcoming Disney Plus animated series and focuses on the titular Bad Batch, a squad of clone troopers introduced near the end of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, in the gap between the Original and Prequel trilogies. Each of the Batch’s five members have a unique skill and loud personality to complement it, making them a fun Dirty Dozen-style crew to follow into the post-War, early Empire days of Star Wars universe.
The new trailer hints at an extremely action-packed show, with big bombastic shootouts and plenty of Easter Eggs. In a lot of ways, The Bad Batch feels like a more blockbuster version of The Clone Wars — perhaps it’ll make for a great entry point for new viewers to discover the less-mainstream animated side of Star Wars.
