Demon Slayer is getting more episodes, sort of. On Thursday, Funimation announced that it’s releasing three special episodes of Demon Slayer that will recap the anime’s first season, to help catch fans up before the movie is released later this month. All three episodes will be available on Funimation’s streaming service at 4 p.m. EDT on April 15.
Because they’re only meant to recap the events of Demon Slayer’s first season, these new episodes will mostly consist of footage from the show’s previous 26 episodes. However, Funimation says that the third episode, which focuses on the Hashira, features some new footage.
While it’s not clear how long each of the three episodes will be, this should provide fans and newcomers with a much faster way to get ready for Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, the series’ first movie, than rewatching the entire first season.
All three episodes were only available via Japanese broadcast before streaming on Funimation. Funimation will release both the subbed and English-dubbed versions of the specials.
Demon Slayer: Mugen Train is set to be released in U.S. theaters on April 23.
