Netflix’s Castlevania animated series will conclude with its upcoming fourth season, which will hit the streaming service on May 13. According to Deadline, while this will be the last season of the show, Netflix is eying a new series set in the same universe but following a different set of characters.
Based on the Konami game series of the same name, Castlevania premiered in 2017 with a short four-episode season. The first two seasons adapted the 1989 prequel game, Castlevania 3: Dracula’s Curse. The third season, meanwhile, drew inspiration from two different Castlevania games, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and Castlevania: Curse of Darkness. The fourth season was announced last March.
The dark medieval fantasy series has tapped many of the classic game characters, such as monster hunter Trevor Belmont (Richard Armitage), magician Sypha Belnades (Alejandra Reynoso), and dhampir son of Dracula, Alucard (James Callis).
