People are bidding more than $34K on an Among Us chicken nugget

A McDonald’s chicken nugget shaped like a crewmate from the hit mafia-styled game Among Us was listed on eBay on Friday. The bidding is still going at the time of publication, but people are currently offering over $34,000 for the nugget.

The chicken nugget, which was described as having been included with a BTS McDonald’s meal (the fast food franchise’s promotion with the K-pop band), was originally listed on eBay for $0.99 by a user named Polizna. Since then, there have been 120 bids, and the price has skyrocketed to $34,744. The auction will continue for two and a half more days, until one lucky (or unlucky) winner walks away with the nugget.

It’s likely that even more people will see the listing and bid on it since the official Among Us twitter shared the listing on its feed today. The already astronomical pricing has the potential to grow into an even larger boatload of cash.

Polygon reached out to the seller but did not hear back in time for publication.

Among Us was the viral hit of 2020. Its cartoony 2D crewmates inspired plenty of memes and animated skits that brought the characters to life. On TikTok, it’s commonplace to see people making jokes pretending to see the characters in everyday objects that vaguely resemble them, like a mailbox or a recycling can.

The Among Us fanbase is creative and passionate. Still, even this seems like it’s a bit much.
