The trailer for Netflix’s The Harder They Fall is here to remind you Westerns are freaking sick

Let’s be outlaws, baby

Every once in a while, a movie comes along that reminds you that Westerns are really damn cool. This time, that movie sure looks like Netflix’s The Harder They Fall.

A revenge story about what happens when outlaw Nat Love (Jonathan Majors) learns his rival Rufus Black (Idris Elba) is out of prison, The Harder They Fall is, per Netflix, “a righteously new school Western” about the collision between their respective gangs. Also starring Regina King, Delroy Lindo, Lakeith Stanfield, and Zazie Beetz, the film is absolutely stacked with terrific actors and wonderfully slick cinematography.

The directorial debut of Jeymes Samuel, the British artist better known as The Bullitts and an occasional collaborator with Jay-Z (who is also a producer on this film), The Harder They Fall seems absolutely brimming with style, packed with slow-mo prison train escapes, cameras placed at the end of a shotgun barrel, and a soundtrack that sets very high expectations for the final film.

Unfortunately, we don’t know when we’ll get to see it, as the trailer notes the film is coming to Netflix and select theaters “soon.” But when the time comes? We ride.
