Netflix’s Witcher anime has a new trailer and a release date
The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf will arrive very soon
The trailer itself is light on details, but we know that the movie is set to follow Vesemir, a veteran Witcher of Kaer Morhen. While most Witcher fans know Vesemir as the mentor of Geralt, it seems that this movie will take place long before that. According to Netlfix’s description, the movie will focus on Vesemir’s origins as a Witcher, amid attempts to save a kingdom from a strange new monster and confront the demons of his past.
The movie is directed by Han Kwang II and written by Beau de Mayo, who both serve as producers on the movie, along with Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, the showrunner of The Witcher. Nightmare of the Wolf is animated by Studio MIR, the studio behind Netflix’s Voltron: Legendary Defender and The Legend of Korra.
During WitcherCon, Netflix also announced that The Witcher season 2 will arrive on the streaming service later this year on Dec. 17.
