Nintendo is shutting down Dr. Mario World, the mobile game based on the pill-dropping puzzle game series, in November, the company said on the game’s official website.

Dr. Mario World launched in 2019 on Android and iOS. The free-to-play, match-three puzzle game inverted the traditional Dr. Mario playfield, letting players push pills upward to eliminate viruses. Dr. Mario World featured 10 doctors at launch, including newly certified healthcare professionals Princess Peach, Bowser, Yoshi, and Bowser Jr. More doctors were added over time; the Mushroom Kingdom granted medical licenses to the likes of Baby Wario and a Goomba Tower wearing a lab coat, which was pretty messed up when you think about it.
But the game will officially shut down Nov. 1 at 6 a.m. UTC, Nintendo said, rendering the game completely unplayable. Nintendo has already ended purchases of the Dr. Mario World’s in-game currency, diamonds. Players will be able to review their history with the game in Dr. Mario World Memories, a web page that will launch after Dr. Mario World is terminated.
