Netflix and Sony Animation’s newest animated film is a musical, magical adventure following a talking kinkajou named Vivo (voiced by none other than Lin-Manuel Miranda), who journeys from Havana to Miami to deliver a love letter (in song form!) from his owner Andrés (Juan De Marcos) to singer Marta (Gloria Estefan).

The first trailer for the upcoming movie shows off the colorful tropical setting of the movie, as well as some of the quirky characters Vivo will encounter on his journey — including hyperactive Gabi, a young girl who helps the monkey on his journey. It’s full of song and dance, with a thread of what-could-have-beens and almost relationships.
The movie was supposed to be released theatrically sometime in 2020, then in early 2021. But after the delays, brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, Sony cancelled the theatrical release and licensed the film to Netflix.
Vivo will be available to stream on Netflix on Aug. 6.
