The world’s shyest anime has a new trailer. The latest trailer for Komi Can’t Communicate was released on Tuesday, along with the series official release date of Oct. 6 — at least in Japan.
While the new trailer looks great, it doesn’t have English subtitles, so we’ll have to make due with just the visuals for now. Komi Can’t Communicate follows a high school girl named Shouko Komi, who gives off the impression of elegance and class, making everyone in school impressed and intimidated by her. However, one of her classmates, Hitohito Tadano, discovers that she’s actually really shy and just wants to make friends. So Tadano makes it his goal to help Komi make 100 friends, mostly from their eccentric and ridiculous classmates, who we get a brief preview of in this trailer.
Komi Can’t Communicate is based on a manga written by Tomohito Oda and first released in 2016. The anime adaptation is being handled by OLM (Odd Taxi) and is directed by Ayumu Watanabe (Children of the Sea). The series will star Aoi Koga (Kaguya-Sama: Love is War) as Komi and Gakuto Kajiwara (Black Clover) as Tadano.
The series is set to begin in Japan on Oct. 6, and while it doesn’t have an English simulcast partner announced yet, it’s sure to have one before it’s premiere.
