The Roy family is back and as dysfunctional as ever in the new trailer for Succession season 3. We’ve gotten a few shorter looks at the new season recently, but this is the first time HBO has released a full trailer showing off the media dynasty’s upcoming war for control of their company.
The first two seasons of Succession were all about the Roy family sticking together as outside, and occasionally inside, forces tried to destroy them. But in season 3, Kendall has finally come for his father’s throne, and he’s forcing the family to choose sides. While Shiv, Roman, and Tom’s loyalties seem split in the trailer, Connor and Greg may have already chosen their battle lines — but who knows how long that will last.
This trailer also gives us brief looks at some of Succession season 3’s new guest stars, including Alexander Skarsgård, who’s playing a quick-tempered tech founder and CEO who is sure to fit right in with Logan and Kendall. There’s also Adrien Brody, who will play an activist investor who seems to be vying for a purchase of Waystar.
Succession season 3 will debut on HBO on Oct. 17.
