Army of Thieves’ new trailer brings together the perfect crew for a heist

The Army of the Dead prequel doesn’t have many zombies, but it’s got plenty of action

Army of Thieves, the prequel to Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead, has a new trailer that shows off its thieving team in action. The new look at the movie was released on Saturday as part of Netflix’s Tudum fan event.

The prequel film tells the story of how Ludwig first got into his life of crime after being recruited from his boring day job as a bank teller. He joins a small crew of expert thieves as they try to pull off a heist of three of the world’s most secure safes.

Army of Thieves doesn’t seem to feature quite as many zombie as Army of the Dead, but there’s still plenty of action. The prequel movie also seems like it will explore a bit more of the world than the original.

Army of Thieves is directed by and stars Matthias Schweighöfer, and is produced by Zack Snyder. Snyder and Shay Hatten, the writers behind Army of the Dead, also penned the script for Army of Thieves. Joining in on the fun is F9 and Game of Thrones’ Nathalie Emmanuel, who recruits Schweighöfer’s character Ludwig to pull off a massive heist during America’s new zombie outbreak.

Army of Thieves is set to release on Oct. 29.
