Jason Momoa goes behind the scenes on Aquaman 2 in new feature

DC FanDome delivered a first look at Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom

Aquaman is back on the throne of Atlantis in Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom. The first behind-the-scenes footage from Aquaman 2, a sequel to James Wan’s 2018 superhero movie, debuted on Saturday as part of DC’s FanDome event.

The behind-the-scenes footage doesn’t reveal much about the plot, but it does show previous of some of the set pieces and action sequences that fans will see in the final movie. There are beaches, cities, snowy mountains, and caves, and of course plenty of underwater fights. The short clip also features the cast talking about how much bigger, more epic, and more fun this new movie.

The Aquaman sequel brings back many members of the creative team from the first movie, including director James Wan, and writer David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick. Many of the cast members are coming back as well including Jason Mamoa as Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as King Orm and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is set for release on Dec. 16, 2022. It’ll be a packed year for DC: also on the docket are The Batman in March, Black Adam in July, and The Flash later that fall.
