Netflix will let Twitch users co-stream the League of Legends anime

The first episode of Arcane, the League of Legends animated series from Riot Games and Netflix, will be co-streamable exclusively on Twitch, the companies announced on Monday.

The show, which premieres at 7 p.m. PDT on Nov. 6, will be accompanied by a “Global Premiere Event” to be broadcast by streamers in more than 30 countries, and is free to co-stream for all fans. The premiere event will include a red carpet pre-show from Riot Games headquarters in Los Angeles.

Arcane will have three acts, each three episodes long (so, nine in all). And unlike most Netflix shows, not all episodes will drop at once: Acts two and three of Arcane will debut on Netflix on Nov. 13 and Nov. 20, respectively.

As an incentive to watch episode one on Twitch, fans will get exclusive in-game items for Riot’s titles via Twitch drops during the show.

“The premiere of the show will be at the center of a global celebration for gamers and fans of the League of Legends IP,” Monday’s statement said. The League of Legends World Championship, which got underway Oct. 8, concludes on Nov. 6.; Riot’s news release noted that last year’s championship drew 49.45 million concurrent viewers, worldwide.
