Kevin McCallister’s iconic house has been forever memorialized in Lego form. Lego is creating a massive new set based on the home from the original Home Alone movie, the company announced on Thursday.
The new Lego set was originally suggested as part of the Lego Ideas group, where users can submit their own ideas for new sets which Lego sometimes picks up and produces — while passing on a 1% royalty fee to the original designer. In the case of the McCallister house, the original designer is Alex Storozhuk, from Vinnitsa, Ukraine. Storozhuk was already a fan of the movie and to him, it seemed like Lego was a natural fit for the iconic house, he said in an interview with the Lego Ideas blog.
The house set itself is made up of 3,955 pieces and is packed full of references. Of course, the Wet Bandits are included, but there are also a variety of traps hidden inside the house, a Lego T.V. showing Angels with Filthy Souls, and even a cutout of Michael Jordan.
This isn’t the only recent revival of the Home Alone franchise. Along with this intricately detailed Lego set, Disney is also reviving the series with a new Disney Plus movie. The new movie, which is ridiculously titled Home Sweet Home Alone, stars Archie Yates (Jojo Rabbit), Timothy Simons (Veep), Ellie Kemper (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), and Kenan Thompson (Saturday Night Live).
Lego’s new Home Alone set will be available starting on Nov. 1 in Lego Stores or on the Lego website.
