Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts’ final season trailer shows the biggest threat yet

Dr. Emilia wants to wipe out mutantkind once and for all ...

Kipo and her friends rally together for one last season of Kipo and the Age of the Wonderbeasts, facing their most fearsome adversary yet in a new trailer for season 3 of the Netflix animated series.

Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts takes place in a lush, post-apocalyptic world where giant, mutated animals (known as “mutes”) have taken over the Earth’s surface, and most of humanity has been forced into underground communities known as burrows. The first season saw Kipo (Karen Fukuhara) lost on the surface trying to find her way back to her Burrow, while the second had her and her new friends attempt to rescue the newly kidnapped Burrow from power-hungry mandrill Scarlemange (Dan Stevens). Throughout, Kipo and her friends learn that mutes and humans aren’t so different after all. Could peace between them be possible?

But by the end of the second season, it became clear that while Scarlemange was a big, bad villain, the real threat came in the form of Dr. Emilia (Amy Landecker), a human scientist bent on wiping out mutants once and for all.

The third and final season of Kipo and the Age of the Wonderbeasts premieres on Netflix on Oct. 12.
