Early in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, you can find the Rygjafylke Hoard Map, which contains a clue that leads to treasure. Here’s what the text says:

Rygjafylke Hoard Map
Hunters of the silver-glory! East of Alrekstad, the hoard will look upon you from Torghatten Rock’s eye. Engage its gaze and reap this reward.

When you pick it up in Kjotve’s Fortress, it sure sounds like you should start in Alrekstad and look east. We sure tried that. But that path sure will cost you (see: us) hours. Instead, your destination is an island west of Alrekstad.

In this Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Rygjafylke Hoard Map guide, we’ll show you the location of the treasure.

Turns out that Torghatten Rock is a real thing — a giant rock in Norway with a hole running through it. That’s what you’re looking for, and you’ll find it west of Alrekstad.

As you can see on the map of Hordafylke above, you can set sail from Alrekstad or (if you’ve already unlocked it) warp to the Highpoint on the large island pictured above.

Below that Highpoint is … a lot of rock. And running horizontally through that rock is Torghatten. You can enter from the east or west (though there’s a Stacking Stones puzzle to the west, so maybe start there). Either way, inside you’ll find a bunch of skeletons to loot, one of whom has a Collect (instead of Loot) prompt. Loot that guy for an Opal.

Keep looking around for a strange pile of what looks to be wood glowing. Loot that, and you’ll receive the Snakebite Scheme (Sail), “a sail design fr your longship that can be added to your Shipyard,” according to the in-game description.

And that’s your reward for discovering the location of the treasure at the end of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Rygjafylke Hoard Map.
