Apex Legends season 2 battle pass: release date, price, and unlocks

Apex Legends season 2 is live, which means a new battle pass is here with a plenty of cosmetics to collect. The season 2 battle pass will include dozens of cosmetics for Apex heroes and guns, and is available for purchase in-game now for 950 Apex Coins (about $9.50).

Last season’s battle pass ran into criticism over the quality of unlocks and the emphasis that the pass put on smaller rewards like banner images and stat trackers for individual characters. Respawn has addressed this previously by saying that this pass would contain more weapon and character skins, as well as higher-rarity loot overall. And it certainly does. The new battle pass contains four legendary character skins, and new high-quality weapon skins for guns like the Spitfire and the R-301.

Another change coming in season 2 has to do with how quickly you should unlock new tiers. While the pass still has 100 tiers for you to level up, the method will be a little bit different this season. There will now be challenges associated with the pass, which should help players earn their way to new rewards faster. These challenges will come in daily and weekly varieties with the daily quests being random, and a set collection of new quests that unlock each week.

If you are undecided on the pass when the season first starts, don’t worry; you’ll still earn some progress toward upgrading your pass. When the battle pass is unlocked, you will also gain access to all of the previous weeks’ challenges, no matter how far into the season you buy the pass.

There will also be a faster way to unlock the rewards from the season 2 battle pass, as players can purchase a pre-upgraded pass for 2,800 Apex Coins (around $28). This pass will come with the first 25 levels already unlocked. The Apex Legends season 2 battle pass went live as part of the season 2 launch on July 2, and will stay up until the end of season 2 sometime in September.
