One of the challenges scattered around Borderlands 3 involves slabs written in Eridian. To complete these challenges, all you’ll have to do is translate the writing and read the slabs. Unfortunately, that’s not something you can do right out of the gate.

Instead, you’ll have to wait to get that ability. Below, we’ve got all the info you need about reading Eridian writing and completing these challenges.

Non-spoiler version

You can start translating Eridian writing after you pick up an item in the game that is essential the story. It won’t happen until pretty late in Borderlands 3, but once you have the item — the Eridian Analyzer — you can start translating and completing these challenges.

You get the Eridian Analyzer from the Great Vault. After you kill the boss that opens it, just like the previous vaults, you’ll go inside and it will be sitting on a pillar in the center of the room.
