Borderlands 3 is a fairly substantial game for single players. But with four unique characters to choose from, you might want to play the game online with a few friends. Starting the matchmaking process to play the campaign or other cooperative modes with others is pretty straightforward. Here’s how to do it.
Matchmaking in Borderlands 3
From the game’s menu or the pause menu, select the Social option. From there, you’ll have several sections to choose from. Selecting the second option from the upper menu will bring you to the matchmaking mode.
The matchmaking menu will give you several choices to make. First off, you can play the campaign for missions you’re working on with other players who have similar levels to you. In addition, you can get into a matchmaking queue for two of the other modes in Borderlands 3: Circle of Slaughter and Proving Grounds.
Circle of Slaughter will pair you and three other players up against increasingly powerful waves of enemies until you can no longer hold them off. Proving Grounds will offer up unique dungeons and bosses for you and your team to take out for big rewards, if you can survive the encounter.
Once you start the queue in either mode, the matchmaking process will begin as the game tries to find three other players best suited for your level or the game mode you’re searching for.
