Bugsnax guides, how to, and tips and tricks Image: Young Horses

In Bugsnax, you will have to catch a lot of the titular bug-food critters to progress and fill out your Bugapedia. While some Bugsnax have straightforward catching methods, some require using several different tools and sauces to lure the tasty creature in.

Some of the Bugsnax will require you to revisit areas later, so don’t be surprised if you don’t end up with all of them upon visiting a new area for the first time.

Below, we’ve listed how to catch each Bugsnak by location, including the time you can catch them.

Table of contents

Garden Grove

Bunger (all day): Hit a Bunger with Ketchup, causing another Bunger to run up to it and stun it so you can catch it with the net. You may need to use Ketchup to lure another Bunger to the same area first.

Fryder (all day): Place the Snak Trap below the Fryder and hit the device with Ketchup to lure the Fryder in.

Shishkabug (all day): Place the Snak Trap where the Shishkabug is standing. After it hides in a bush, hit the bush with Ketchup to make a nearby Bunger scare it out of the bush and into the trap.

Sweetiefly (4 a.m. - 4 p.m.): Place the Lunchpad and aim it at the Sweetiefly. Place the Snak Trap on top of the Lunchpad and fire it at the Sweetiefly when it is resting.

White Strabby (all day): Carefully place the Snak Trap along a White Strabby’s path. If it hides in a nearby bush, back up and wait for it to come back out.

Dr Sodie (all day): Place the Snak Trap on the Dr Sodie’s path.

Weenyworm (all day): Place the Snak Trap on the Weenyworm’s path.

Cobhopper (all day): Fire the Trip Shot across the Cobhopper’s path. Grab the Cobhopper with the net once it’s stunned.

White Rootle (6 a.m. - 4 p.m.): Place the Snak Trap along the White Rootle’s path.
