Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War open beta: everything we know

You’ll have to pre-order if you want it early

We’ve finally gotten our first look at Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s multiplayer thanks to thanks to a reveal stream where developer Treyarch let players know how and when they can play the game ahead of its Nov. 13 release date.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will hold an early access beta, followed by an open beta which will eventually make its way to all of the game’s platforms — at least the ones that are out when the beta is released. The early access beta will only be available to players that have pre-ordered the game on the platform they’re trying to play on.

The Black Ops Cold War beta will start out on PlayStation 4 and will be open for one weekend. The PS4’s early access period will run from Oct. 8 to Oct. 9 and the PS4 open beta will run Oct. 10-12.

The weekend after, Black Ops Cold War will go multi platform for a beta on Xbox, PC, and PlayStation 4. On Oct. 15 and 16, the beta will be in early access for players that have pre-ordered on PC and Xbox One, while any PlayStation 4 player can jump in. Finally, on Oct. 17-19, every player will have open access to the beta no matter what platform they’re on.

Previous multiplayer events included five maps, two new game modes and several returning Call of Duty favorites, and around 17 unique weapons.
