Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s new Zombies map is set in the jungles of Vietnam

The map’s first trailer shows off some of the map’s new weapons and zombies

Treyarch has finally revealed the latest Zombies map for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and it’s going to send players deep into the jungles of Vietnam. After weeks of teasers, the developer showed off the first trailer for the map on Thursday.

The new map is going to be called, Firebase Z, and it’s already shaping up to change quite a bit from Black Ops Cold War’s other map. Alongside the rank-and-file zombies that players are used to seeing, Firebase Z will also include a brand new type of boss zombies that will probably spawn in specific rounds.

The trailer shows a small band of special forces soldiers who get transported through a Dark Aether portal and into a zombie nightmare. From there the trailer turns into a zombie-killing montage that shows off some of the locations from Firebase Z. It looks like the map will be pretty big and encompass most of a small military outpost. The trailer also ends with the arrival of a massive zombie cyclops that shoots a laser out of its eyes, which seems like it might be one of the most threatening enemies every included in a Zombies map.

The trailer also gives us a short glimpse of some of the new weapons that will be on offer across the map including an assault rifle that appears to shoot some kind of energy grenade. Of course, there will also be plenty of options for Pack-A-Punch, which should make a return here, and there’s sure to be another complicated Easter egg for players to sink their teeth into once the map is actually released.

For more information on Firebase Z we’ll have to wait until Treyarch is ready to show more, or until the map is actually released on Feb. 4. The map will be available to all players on all consoles for free.
