The zombies of Verdansk are getting even more aggressive. In Call of Duty: Warzone’s latest update, the infected enemies have spread all the way into Verdansk’s hospital in the southeast corner of the map.
Just like in previous outbreak areas, the newly infected hospital has plenty of zombies shambling around for players to kill. On top of that, there are special boxes around the building that contain better loot than what’s typically found.
Raven Software, Warzone’s developer, put out a blog post on Thursday with an in-universe account of the infection’s spread. In the blog post, there’s mention that the hospital is no longer safe and that it should be avoided. But the post also mentions that your in-game superiors think this will be the extent of the infection and that it isn’t likely to spread further. But we’re not quite convinced.
Last week, Verdansk’s zombie outbreak spread from the Vodianoy cargo ship to Verdansk’s Prison. Now it seems to have spread even more as it makes its way into the hospital and Verdansk’s most southern city. It seems that this infection event is likely to continue throughout Warzone’s current season, and by the end may even spread through the entire map.
What happens to the map once it’s been taken over by zombies is anyone’s guess. Of course, one possibility is that the map has to be destroyed in one way or another, something that Warzone fans have predicted often for the game’s various events.
