Preview: Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, the comic book prequel

Susana Polo is an entertainment editor at Polygon, specializing in pop culture and genre fare, with a primary expertise in comic books. Previously, she founded The Mary Sue.

Call of Duty: Black Ops is coming to comics, with a six-issue miniseries from Dark Horse. Beginning in November, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 (that is, the comic) will follow an "elite group of soldiers" as they hunt for a double agent and discover a wider conspiracy.

Courtesy of Dark Horse Comics itself, we've got the reveal of the cover to Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 #2, and the first two pages of the issue in their final colored form and in their preliminary black and white inks.

The series is written by Larry Hama, drawn by Marcelo Ferreira and colored by Dan Jackson. The full cover image, below, was created by Anthony Palumbo. Issue #2 will hit store shelves on Dec. 2, 2015.
