Both the Power Rangers and the Justice League are set to receive new movies next year, and now the the two crime-fighting crews are teaming up for their own comic mini-series.
In the monthly mini-series, things go awry in the Power Rangers’ hometown of Angel Grove when their power center is breached and the Black Ranger is flung into an alternate dimension full of “citizens possessing outrageous powers and wearing strange costumes,” according to a press release. It’s up to the rest of the Power Rangers to travel and find the Black Ranger before Batman captures him.
Each issue of the comic, which is being written by Tom Taylor (Injustice: Gods Among Us, Green Lantern Corps: Edge of Oblivion) and inked by Stephen Byrne (Justice League of America Rebirth: The Ray), will come with a variant cover starring a member from each team. For example, one issue will have Batman and the Pink Ranger on the cover while another will star Wonder Woman and the Red Ranger. Guest artists for the variant covers include Dan Hipp, Dustin Nguyen, Yasmine Putri, Marguerite Sauvage, Chris Sprouse and Marcus To.
The mini-series kicks off on Jan. 11, 2017. On the cinematic side, the Power Rangers movie is set to be released March 24, 2017 with Justice League debuting toward the end of the year on Nov. 17.
