From the Logan trailer alone, the trained observer can find several sources that the third Wolverine movie is pulling from, including the X-Men: Evolution cartoon, a fictional murder squad from 1988, and the Old Man Logan miniseries.
So if you watched the first trailer for Logan and thought it seemed like an out-of-left-field take on Wolverine, while your comics-reading buddy nodded along like they’d seen all of this before, I am here to help.
