Nintendo fans thirsty for more Arms lore can look forward to a series of graphic novels based on the Switch fighting game coming next year. Comic book publisher Dark Horse announced a partnership with Nintendo today to bring the weird world of Arms to a series of comics in 2018.
Dark Horse called its partnership with Nintendo “a new publishing program for the energetic and strategic fighting game” and shared new artwork of Arms fighters Spring Man, Ribbon Girl and Master Mummy from illustrator Joe Ng. (Ng is no stranger to drawing video game characters for comics; he’s illustrated Street Fighter and Darkstalkers books for Udon Entertainment and Overwatch’s Bastion comic for Blizzard.) Here’s a first peek at the art:

Details on the Arms graphic novels are scant; Dark Horse and Nintendo got the news out in advance of New York Comic Con, but didn’t offer specifics on what the books will focus on. At a minimum, we’ll hopefully get even more juicy details on everyone’s favorite Arms combatant, Helix.
Dark Horse and Nintendo have worked together on a bunch of books already, including The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia, The Art of Fire Emblem Awakening and The Art of Splatoon.
